Jacob P. East and Abbi W. Harris Named as Junior Partners

Darkhorse Law PLLC is excited to announce that attorneys Jacob P. East and Abbi W. Harris have been named as the firm’s newest junior partners! East and Harris have been with Darkhorse Law since its founding in 2020 and have been instrumental in expanding and managing the practice since becoming licensed.

Jacob P. East, Esq. focuses his practice on business development, contracts, corporate governance, business formation, mergers and acquisitions, and other business planning work. He has helped clients both buy and sell various kinds of businesses, including restaurant franchises, retail stores, and other small businesses, and has reviewed, edited, and drafted many complex business contracts, including intellectual property licensing agreements, sale of goods contracts, and commercial leases. He has extensive experience conducting trademark searches and applying for trademark registrations before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Mr. East is licensed to practice law in Virginia as well as the federal courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He earned his J.D. from Liberty University School of Law and his B.S. from Virginia Tech.

Abbi W. Harris, Esq. focuses her practice on intellectual property and other related litigation. She has assisted clients in complex federal litigation relating to copyright and trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, contracts, and various other disputes. Mrs. Harris is experienced in dispute mediation having participated in numerous mediations and has drafted many legal briefs, motions, and other complex court filings which have been argued at both the state and federal levels. She also has extensive experience conducting trademark searches and applying for trademark registrations before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Mrs. Harris is licensed to practice law in North Carolina as well as the federal courts for the Western District of North Carolina. She earned her J.D. from Liberty University School of Law and her B.A. from Florida State University.
