Jacob P. East, Esq.
Growing up in rural southwest Virginia, Jacob saw first hand the impact that small business had on local communities and families. This allowed Jacob to develop a passion for small business which ultimately led him to pursuing his education at Virginia Tech. During his time at Virginia Tech, he received a degree in business management, with specializations in consulting and data analytics. In doing so, he was able to work closely with local businesses, providing insight on how to improve and optimize their operations.
Following his graduation from Virginia Tech, Jacob continued his studies at Liberty University School of Law. While at Liberty Law, he devoted the majority of his studies to the areas of business and intellectual property law. In doing so, he participated as a member of the law school’s Intellectual Property Clinic, then in it’s third year of operation. The clinic allowed Jacob to work with and manage real clients on intellectual property and business matters even prior to his licensure.
Jacob began working as an intern for Andrew Connors at his previous firm in the summer of 2019 following his first year of law school. He has since continued working with Mr. Connors through the founding of Darkhorse Law, and has assisted in creating a client centered firm, focused on helping businesses of all sizes thrive. Following his licensure, he has represented clients in a wide array of subject matters, focusing on business related matters such as formation, planning, and complex business sales, as well as matters concerning contracts, intellectual property, and related disputes.
Jacob has also competed at the national level in the United States Patent and Trademark Office Annual Patent Drafting Competition for two consecutive years, finishing as a regional semi-finalist each year, and was also a recipient of the Eagle Scout Award through the Boy Scouts of America in his youth.
