Christopher Akins

Chris Akins is one of Darkhorse Attorneys’ newly licensed associates, where he focuses his practice on business law, intellectual property, contracts, and related civil matters. He works with entrepreneurs and business owners to provide practical legal guidance that supports growth and long-term success.

Chris earned his Juris Doctor from Liberty University School of Law in 2025. During law school, he demonstrated strong advocacy and negotiation skills, earning semi-finalist honors in both the 1L Moot Court Competition and the 1L Negotiations Tournament, and receiving a Lawyering Skills Certificate of Proficiency. Prior to licensure, Chris spent more than two years with Darkhorse Attorneys, advancing from Summer Intern to Senior Law Clerk. In this role, he conducted legal research; drafted memoranda, briefs, motions, pleadings, and client correspondence; reviewed contracts and agreements; and assisted attorneys with litigation strategy and case preparation.

Before entering the legal profession, he worked in management and leadership roles, where he developed communication, organization, and problem-solving skills that are at the forefront of his practice. Outside of the office, Chris enjoys exercising, following college and profesional sports, and spending time with his family.
