REGISTERED AGENT SERVICES

At Darkhorse Attorneys, we offer registered agent services on a yearly retainer basis to all of our business clients. These services ensure that you have a consistent address in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as required by law, and that all important documentation is received at the same place. Under this plan, your official business communications from the State Corporation Commission (“SCC”), other governmental bodies, as well as official service of process will be received and reviewed by our staff and will be communicated to you. Additionally, we take the responsibility of providing you with reminders of renewal deadlines, fees, and other important matters from the SCC regarding your business to make the operation of your business simpler for you and your staff.

BUSINESS RETAINER PLAN

When operating a small business, it is often difficult to determine exactly what you need or how to effectively navigate a new and ever-changing market. TRADEMARK POLICING SERVICES

In addition to help you obtain trademarks and resolve trademark-related conflicts, we provide trademark policing and maintenance services, even for clients who have previously obtained trademarks. Policing involves periodically checking the USPTO database to see whether there are pending registrations that are similar to your mark and taking appropriate action to prevent them from succeeding. Policing also involves identifying known infringers, informing them that they are violating your trademark rights, and taking appropriate measures to prevent further infringement.
 

At Darkhorse Attorneys, we also provide trademark maintenance services, which are essential to protecting your brand in the long term. After you obtain a federal trademark, you are required to submit a “maintenance filing” to the USPTO every five years in order to retain your rights to a specific name, logo, or other protectable attribute of your business.
